Several medical experts from Italy, Britain, Spain, Portugal are trying to find out if there is any connection between severe inflammatory disease and Prevailing COVID-19 found in Children.
Many of the European nations have now been trying to cope with the disease mostly found in children of every age below 5. Many of the children have been hospitalized for having heart issues and high fever. Some of them have faced GIT issues which are inclusive of diarrhea and vomiting.
Children are observed to be involved with the disease called Kawasaki disorder that mostly infects the children. The Kawasaki disease is commonly found in most of the regions of Asia.
Symptoms for mild conditions include body rashes, distention of glands while for severe condition, heart and blood vessel inflammation is observed.
Till now, Doctors have not come up with any authentic information in relation to the disease whether it is linked with COVID-19.
As per the study, usually COVID-19 does not infect the children. However, the increasing surge in the number of children for the disease during the pandemic of COVID-19 has cautioned all the Medical Experts of the European region.
After observing the situation, British National Health System alerted stating, “Over the last three weeks there has been an apparent rise in the number of children of all ages presenting with a multisystem inflammatory state requiring intensive care across London and also in other regions of the U.K.”
To comprehend the case, Health Authorities have collected the blood samples of all the infected children, a couple of the children tested positive for COVID-19 and having severe inflammation as that of severe COVID-19 adult patients.
British Health Authorities stressed COVID-19 in children is rare but the parents should consult the health experts if their child shows severe symptoms. They also suggested that the blood tests for children are being inspected with inflammatory issues.
Britain’s National Medical Director for England stated this would be too before say is there any link between COVID-19 and Kawasaki-like disease. However, at the health conference on Monday, he cautioned the national medical director for people and children to have a cautious look into this situation.
Italian heart specialist, Matteo Ciuffreda told Reuters that at least 20 children below 9 have been observed by the doctors with vascular inflammation since late March. Doctors say the ratio is 6 times higher than they would expect to observe in the whole year.
Moreover, he stated that similar cases have been found in Madrid and Libson but most of them tested negative for COVID-19. More information is needed to find out the genuine cause of surged-cases for Kawasaki-like disease spreading in Europe.
However, the United States’ pediatricians have not reported such cases for inflammatory disease in the region.
